A red-skinned Japanese carrot with sweet pink inner flesh which holds its colour well after cooking. Sweeter flavour than orange carrots due to its larger sugary core. And it contains plenty of lycopene - the healthy antioxidant that gives tomatoes their red colour. Harvest July-November. 112 days from sowing to harvest (taken from our own trials and may vary in different areas).

Sow thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm weed-free soil at a depth of 13mm (½"). Germination 15-20 days. Allow 30cm (12") between rows or scatter across raised beds. Thin gradually to a final spacing of 5-7.5cm (2-3") between plants. Pull small for salad use. Sow under cloches for early roots. Carrots grow best in a sunny position in well-cultivated soil which has not recently been manured. Sowing to Cropping: 12-16 weeks.
